Guest guest
Hi ladies (and lurking gentlemen), I'm just back from a visit with another RE followed by an appointment with my acupuncturist and I'm in good spirits (usually I'm crying after fibroid/fertility related appointments). The RE said that he doesn't think that my fibroid is a contraindication for using Clomid in conjunction with IUI (intra uterine insemination). He said it is my fibroid and it is up to me what I want to do with it. He believes it is best to leave it alone and not do invasive surgery. He thought it was good that I was going to see an acupuncturist and he was interested in the improvement in my PMS that came from the progesterone use (which also didn't bother him at all). He agreed that whatever treatment I had should fit in with my personal philosophy -- something that the other doctors who all wanted me to have a myo were failing to take into consideration. If the fibroid grows or if I have a miscarriage I can always have the surgery later. I'd like to exhaust all other possibilities first and this new doc agreed. I could start the Clomid as soon as next cycle, starting with a cycle day 3 u/s to check on my fibroid (no time for an u/s today). I don't think I will be ready to get started so quickly on that treatment course and I need to make sure my partner is okay with it. The acupuncturist and I talked about what he has been observing in me and he said that he believes that I have a liver issue related to emotional issues that is blocking energy in that area. He said I had some other deficiencies as well but the liver was the big issue. He said that where my fibroid is located (on the right side) matches up directly with one of the liver energy connections. We discussed the Clomid/IUI treatment and he feels that we should hold off for a few cycles until we can work more on my emotional issues. I've already started working with a counselor again and I've started doing more positive self talk (out loud even -- whatever works!) If anyone has any books that help improve one's outlook, stories of how you have used meditation or made emotional changes in your life I would love to hear them. I'm feeling a little happier now, like I'm not crazy and that having a fibroid might not be a life sentence after all. Thanks for your ongoing support.
