Very bad stools, teeth grinding, eyes going off to the corner, pressing his head against things, spacy, stimmy, and temper tantrums. This started slowly, then snowballed. We stopped the NAC and his stools came back immeadiately. The next day, his negative behaviours decreased dramatically (this was almost two weeks ago)... but he was not quite back to his old self. Two days after stoping the NAC an anomaly... he had the best day of his life, e.g., understanding staying hiden in hide and seek, understanding that there is a game to throwing a ball back and forth, asking all sorts of relevant quetions while watching the Grey Cup (Canadian football championship)... no repetitive questions, etc. I suspect this was the positive aspects of the NAC. Only one negative that day... still a bit of the teeth grinding. Since then... he's getting progressively worse and worse and all the above negatives have mostly come back... to almost as bad as the day we stopped NAC. He also seems to have a virus... but typically, he doesn't get negative with a virus... just tired. Today, he also said his tummy hurt, then he wouldn't elaborate on it or answer questions about it... so who knows. We've been giving him between 130-200 mcg of Selenium a day since (he just turned three)... NOTE: we are not chelating yet. THEORY Take the amazing day out of the equation (as I knew that wasn't going to last as he was no longer taking NAC)... Stools came back and he returned to near normal, then the mercury that was dislodged by the NAC, and is making him worse and worse? QUESTIONS Is my theory completely crazy? Should we have already seen the negative consequences of mercury by now... or is there more to come? Could this possibly be Selenium (somethng he's never received before now)? Anyone have any idea what a negative reaction to Selenium might look like?
