Hi Laurie - thanks for the welcome. Am I glad to find you!!! Seizures, related to RSD or not, at least someone else in a similar boat..... so, if I can be so bold to ask, did your seizures start at or around the same time as the RSD - or the RSD overwhelming pain symtoms?

My seizures started at the same time about. From my neck injury - hot/swollen hands, burning pain - that turned into frozen hands and feet, and the seizures all started off about the same time - within a couple weeks of the accident. Steadily progressing from there - at one point I was having upwards of 60 seizures a week.

I am on Neurontin (Gabapentin 2400mg/day) & Topiramate (Topamax 100mg/day) - and weigh 98 pounds, and work hard to keep that weight on. It's the topamax that keeps the weight off, I haven't felt hungry since I've been on it, and at 200mg it made it so that a mouthful of anything felt like it sat at the back of my throat after swallowing forever. I went from 115 pounds to 90 pounds in 2 months, and then it got reduced to 100mg and it has been over a year to get to and maintain between 95 and 100 pounds - and I eat and drink a lot of calories in a day - but they just get burned off somehow - I'm not sure how, all I do is either sit in front of the computer or sit on the couch - I do cook dinner 3 or 4 nights a week too. And for anybody else reading this and wanting to lose weight - there has been a study on topamax, and weight loss was a across the board side effect of the drug.

Why don't you think that your seizures are related to RSD? maybe I already asked that, if so I'm sorry. I have horrible short term memory. Are your seizures epileptic or non-epileptic in origin? Thanks for allowing me into your personal space - you are welcome to ask me anything about anything. If you would prefer, you are welcome to write me personally - if that is not a breach of the group protocol - my address is flashinfaye@... - I don't want to get any one in trouble - least of all me! Lord knows I can find trouble easy enough just sitting on the couch.

Well, thanks again Laurie, you and the others in this group seem like a great bunch of people. I am fortunate to be a part of such a group. I hope that I will be able to contribute to this group as much as I learn from it. Hope to talk to you soon, Best to you and yours, Faye
