Happy Holiday/Merry Christmas

I want to wish the entire group, a happy Holiday and a Merry Christmas. I am sure all of you have seen my article that I have forwarded to the group last night. It was an article that was printed in the Highlands Today portion of the Tampa Tribune for our local section here in Highlands County.

It took a lot of guts for this editor to Print what I had to say about Florida Hospital Heartland Division in Sebring and what the doctors here and how the Staff treated me during my stay at this facility during last July. and what my personal doctor did to me at the time knowing I was 700 miles away in Tennessee and discharged me knowing I had to take meds that I could not return in time to find a new doctor because there where 3 more hurricanes comming up Florida. This Doctor knew this and took advantage of this scene and was Unethical in what he did knowing all the medical Problems I had.

I dont want to repeat everything as you can read the Article, We have only 2 hospitals here in the County. I am now on the Hot seat as immediatly after this article came out on Thursday, I was called by the Hospital Attorney wanting a meeting next week on the 29th and with the Administrator and other big wigs of this Hospital. I hope some of you will expose what is going on here.

Many people are calling me telling me I had the Guts to even write a story like that because I am in Good Ole Boy area, and I am sure I will get a lot of heat. I feel sorry for My new doctor that will feel it to. I am sure this Hospital will put heat on him.

Folks thiings are going to really hit the Fan for me in the next week because of this article, I just hope all of you pray for me that I dont stroke out from the pressure I am about to endure.

I hope that what was printed will help all people who have this disease and wake up other Hospitals and Doctors in this Country, Now I feel like Christ did before he died. I am about to go down with the ship.

Congratulations on all of your efforts with the article. Quite brave on your part, it is articles like this that may help raise the awareness of RSD and the difficulties faced by the people who have it. I too am concerned, but surprised, by the response of the targeted hospital. Please don't let them get to you and, should they make an attempt to threaten you in any way, please get in touch with attorney (or a civil liberties respresentive from the ACLU) as soon as possible.

I believe that you are correct in your assumption that they will put pressure on the physician who is now treating you. My greatest worry, Jan, is for you. I am concerned that you new doctor, for fear of having his hospital privileges yanked, may withdraw his commitment to act as your physician or that the hospital might cleverly place barriers on your receiving future medical care.
