Guest guest
Dr Jeff Bradstreet is in Florida. He is a DAN! dr with an autistic son. Dr. Jerry Karzinel (sp?) is his partner. You can get more info re: their practice at www.goodnewsdr.com (I think that's the address). I know the info is overwhelming...Hang in there!!!! Ask lots of questions. All I can say is: IT IS WORTH IT. My autistic son has come SO far (and still has a long way to go, but we are farther than I ever thought possible). I hope you find good help... Blessings on your journey - , mom to (8, metals issues) and (7, autistic) [ ] I need a doc to guide me through this I've spent the evening reading posts on this site and I am feeling oh so confused. Everything is so technical and there is just too much information for this little old mom. Can anyone recommend a good doctor who will get us to chelation. We have a few hundred supplements in our cabinet and nothing seems to really make a difference. Some people say nothing will really help until you get the metals out. I have a 4 year old autistic girl who keeps getting closer to 5 every day. I really need the guidance of a good doctor. We are in ville, Florida. Thanks, Terri =======================================================
Guest guest
This is just my feeling and I have been doing this for one year. There is no doctor who can do all the work for you and save your child. Doctors can help, some more than others, but nothing can replace a mother spending hours on the net reading and sharing info with other parents. I thought at first that seing a DAN doctor would just solve everything. I was wrong. I saw a lot of DAN doctors and each has somehow contributed to my son progress, but nothing as much as what I have found on this list and other lists. At first, you could read the info under the Files section, especially the ones that explain how to do a hair test and interprete it, what supplements to take. That is a bit less overwhelming than all the daily messages. > I've spent the evening reading posts on this site and I am feeling > oh so confused. Guest guest
I sent the names of a couple of doc's privately. Publicly I'd like to remind everyone that I have had far more detailed biochemical discussions with housewives who had liberal arts degrees than with any famous DAN! doctor - while this stuff is quite technical and can seem overwhelming, I have been quite surprised at how well mommies and daddies figure it out - which also explains a lot of my generally bad attitude about doctors who don't since they do have the advantage of proper training. Don't get overwhelmed one day and give up. Keep picking at things a few times a week and you'll figure out a lot more than you think you can - and also help your kid a lot more than you think you can. Everything is so technical and there is just too > much information for this little old mom. when I read this, I have to " take myself by the hand " and take myself back and remember how VERY VERY overwhelming I found this list, for a VERY long time. I decided, at some point, that I would just find a dentist or someone who could tell me what I should do. That seemed very reasonable to me at that point. I also remember wondering if I could somehow sort it all out and muddle through. I had pads of paper with notes about all different things (mostly chelation agents and products and where to buy them). I got DMSA and DMPS mixed up continually and thought that one was " good " and the other " bad " but I didn't know which was which. (I finally realized people were saying contradictory things, so no wonder I was getting them confused.) It was just such a mess to me. This lasted a while. Now I think it is mostly quite straight-forward. LOL. My point in this is that I try to remind myself of this so that I can respond with compassion for the very real difficulty. The " learning curve " can be pretty icky--- but also rewarding. I really really doubt that it is " too much " for you. A lot of folks have managed to wade through it, and here we are now....... I do think it helps to try to ignore the majority of the posts--- the ones that are incomprehensible, for example, or are about things you don't need to understand just now. You could also use the same technique (pick what is interesting and RELEVANT TO YOU) in this file: http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/ANDY_INDEX.html > Can anyone recommend a > good doctor who will get us to chelation. Thanks, Terri I don't know anyone to recommend, but here are my general thoughts and ideas about how to find a doctor for chelation: http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/HOW_TO_find_doctor.html (This page is really more about HOW to find a doctor, and not WHETHER to find a doctor, by the way.) good wishes, Moria
