Hi,

looking for some help!

We got a hair analysis back which among other things showed a high

level of calcium, for which it was suggested we gave b6 and magnesium.

The only problem with this is, the magnesium sends hyper.

Is this any one else's experience and does anyone have any ideas on

why this should be?

Thanks

Hi--so are you just giving the magnesium now or are you giving a mag

and b6 combination? Because the mag/b6 combo does make some children

very hyper. If it is JUST the magnesium, then what you might try to

do is try a different kind of magnesium. Magnesium orotate, oxide,

citrate, chelate, etc. etc. My son was this way, too. Magnesium is

supposed to have a calming effect but initially my son got very hyper

on it, too. What helped us was doing epsom salt baths in VERY small

amounts--like a teaspoon per bathtub, wait a week, and then do

another one. We also used ojibwa tea of life, which you can get at

www.ojibwatea.com This is what I truly feel helped him tolerate

supplements better. I think he had accumulated a lot of other toxins

(besides metals) that were getting stirred up when we were using

various supplements and the tea helped clean out things.

Thanks for that - I'll go and have agood look at the magnesium and

see what else is available

I'm also interested in the epsom salts in the bath - I've not heard

of that - what does it do?

I'll also check out the tea

thanks,

Stuart

Do you give vitamin A? High calcium is a sign of too much vitamin A.

Calcium does require magnesium for proper absorption, so it can be

lack of magnesium also.

Are you sure it is the magnesium? B6 is a common cause of hyper.

If it is the magnesium, first check to be sure you are giving pure

magnesium, not many fillers, if any.

Second, try changing the TYPE of magnesium, see if that helps.

Dana,

Thanks for that - we'll try just the magnesium and see how we go.
