Hi everyone again,

I wrote a couple days ago and just wanted to give an update. I was

diagnosed on Friday 11/1 and I got to see a nsg yesterday. But they found that

I have a mucosal cyst in my left maxillary sinus and the nsg didn't want to talk

much about the Chiari until that cyst is removed. He did say he wants me back

in 6 weeks and the cyst better be gone. I thought he was very nice and

understanding, but he is not on the list on the wacma site of doctors who

specialize in acm. So I still want to see another doctor no matter what this

one says. (His name is Dr. Lawrence at St. Medical Center in Toledo,

OH). I would like to see the two in New York, but I called the insurance to

make sure that they were in network and they are not. Dr. B just left the

network October 10th!!!! So I need to know other peoples recommendation. I

can't afford to go too far and I am in Michigan (SE corner).

Lawrence did talk about surgery several times, but nothing else so far. He

didn't do any test to determine SF flow, any spinal mri's, or anything. Should

he have already started these test? The pressure in my head is getting

over-bearing. I had lots of questions for him (such as pain relief, what to

avoid, having more kids?, and others). Some of which I have read about on the

website, but just wanted to see what he would say. But he wants to get the

other issue fixed before we discuss anything, since the cyst could be causing

the headaches and confusion.

Any comments from anyone? Does this sound like a typical appointment? Its my

first so have no idea what to expect.
