Happy New years too!!(drive safe >there is a lot of idiots on the roads at these times.) Many owerweight people are on antidepressents, because their hormones are off. They are insulin resistant (lots of weight around and waist). Insulin resistance causes high levels of androgens in the system, which is a key factor in depressions. PCOS is common in overweight woman, and it pushes this even further. To the point. You may not need these medications once you start loosing weight. Please point this out to your psychologist, because he or she may not be aware of the connection. Many people stay on these medications not knowing that they no longer need it. I was one them too, and no longer need it. Do not stop using them once a sudden, because that may be dangerous. Talk to your doctor and see what is best for you. Guest guest
I have not had the surgery yet, but I think like most things - it will be trial and error. Just be sure to tell the MD prescribing to you the meds that you have had surgery. Jackie in CA shynsweetenuf shynsweetenuf@...> wrote: Hi!! Guest guest
Hi Donna, I am on Cymbalta and I haven't noticed any side effects. I am also on Effexor. I have only been on these meds since I had my surgery. Take Care, in CA
Guest guest
My neurologist put me on Cymbalta for my neuropathy, I was on it 6 months and never had any side effects, but I was taken off it and put on Parcopa because the Cymabalta didn't help much. > > Hi Donna, > > I have never been on Cymbalta but I am on Zoloft which is another antidepressant. Guest guest
I discussed with my doctor about using Cymbalta for my neuropathy pain. He said he has seen a lot of side effects with Cymbalta and one was nausea. I told him I was not set for more nausea so he put me back on Zoloft and it has no side effects for me. I actually feel better on Zoloft. I know Zoloft also has a liquid form of it as well. It was bitter for me when I was taking it this summer due to all of the vomiting and nausea I had. When I went into the ER, the doc's put me on Lexepro. I felt no relief at all with Lexepro and that is when we were discussing Cymbalta and Zoloft. There are many different psych meds out there. Takes awhile to find which one works the best for symptoms that you are feeling. --- sherrya_neal sherrya_neal@...> wrote: > My neurologist put me on Cymbalta for my neuropathy, > I was on it 6 > months and never had any side effects, but I was > taken off it and put > on Parcopa because the Cymabalta didn't help much. > > > > > > > Hi Donna, > > > > I have never been on Cymbalta but I am on Zoloft > which is another > antidepressant. Guest guest
I was on Abilify and Depakote ER for bi-polarism until about two or three months after surgery. I've since stopped taking them. I'm amazed that I don't seem to have some of the very pronounced effects of not being on the Abilify, namely " racing " thoughts. > > Hi Donna, I am on Cymbalta and I haven't noticed any side effects. Guest guest
Hey, I take zoloft, and have had no problems. I don't know much about Cymbalta, though. If you have problems, call your doctor the next day or that day, and let her know, so she can switch meds for you. My doctor is great about stuff like that.
