Guest guest Posted February 8, 2006 Report Share Posted February 8, 2006 Hi, this is Joan. I am new to this site. I have the book " Stop Walking on Eggshells " ....I think will be very helpful. My 20 year old son is in the hospital after cutting himself again....sixteen stitches this time. After four years...I have given up trying to help him. Afterall, he doesn't care to help himself. We were at the hospital today to discuss discharge plans for Friday. He will go to a group home on Friday....he can't come back to my house or his dads. We cannot keep him safe from cutting or doing drugs. Today, after the meeting in the hospital, he ripped out his stitches and tried to cut himself with a comb....probably anxous about the group home. Any feelings on group homes?????? We tried to put him in a long-term, state hospital, but his dr. said he wasn't bad enough to go. Apparently, one must be a danger to others or criminally insane.
