Guest guest
hi i am 36 and at 30 my aching hips decided to protest more loudly, i have oa too. like you i can walk ok - not the serious mountain walking i used to do plus i walk with a stick, all my friends are off climbing anf having fun - i watch! i cannot get into the bath without a child step, stairs feel like a mountain, bending down to pick something off the floor is an effort, standing for more than ten minutes is ridiculous and most awful of all i can no longer ride my horse without severe agony (but i will not give in), i have gone from four to five hours riding a day to half hour every few weeks.... to me i am existing, not living, that is why i sit here on a nhs (uk) waiting list to have bilateral resurfacing. i tried arthroscopy which did nothing, and resigned myself to thr, i found out about resurfacing and for me it is the only way to go.... i feel that if it doesn't work then i will be no worse off than i am now..... but i expect a dramatic improvement and i expect to have my life back.......... oh to walk and ride those mountains that i see every day out of my window, to be able to get into the bath.... in fact any bath where a step isn't avaiable..... exactly i sound like an old lady..... and i bloody well feel like it too. young jane - uk xxx > I am 41 yrs old and not too long ago I was routinely running 6-10 > miles per week.
