Guest guest
This is an area of many opinions. I tried lots of different beds, and finally settled on an adjustable Tempurpedic. One of my main problems was getting propped up with pillows and then getting jostled when Dale moved. He can jump on the 'new' mattress, and I don't feel a thing. No bouncing! The foam toppers don't compare to the bed at all, I found. When the bed arrived(in winter)it was as hard as a rock, lol..but got better as it warmed and over time. This is a highly individual choice, as we all have varying degrees of joint problem areas. Without the adjustible feature any bed would be useless to me. If I was to do it over again, I'd get a bed with separate sides. Our bedroom set is antique, however, and could only fit a queen. I've managed to return to bed on a regular basis, though still have trouble staying all night. Though it does cost a bit to do, the trial period is a valuable tool for folks like us. One must keep in mind that beds may 'break in' a bit when new, though a month or so is probably long enough to determine if it's suitable for you. Most of the specialized beds have this trial option. We were fortunate in that the same mattress was well suited to us both, and were able to save a bit over some of the air mattress sets. They also didn't fit into our frame, and I wasn't willing to give it up. But what has been a God-send for me may be uncomfortable for you. Have fun shopping, and trying beds. It always makes us giggle, though we've been married forever..
