Hi

My son Ben also got blisters on his heels early on. The best thing to

do is to cover them with moleskin, or those anti blister bandaids.

Ben has been in his DBB for 6 months now and we just went up a size.

The whole time he was in his size ones, part of the routine was

putting on a band aid. Better to avoid it then deal with it.

Also (and I know you have heard this before) Make sure the heel is

well down and that the boot is tight enough. The foot should not be

moving in the boot at all. When it is on, pull on it. If her toes

move up it isn't tight enough. I find even our orthotist here in

Halifax doesn't do it tight enough. In the beginning I was worried

about it being too tight. Dr. P says they can't be too tight. I don't

know about that but I certainly do them up way tighter now then I

used to and Ben doesn't mind one bit. And hey....no blisters.

Try to avoid skipping days this early in her treatment. take more

breaks but avoid long periods of time with no bracing. Regression can

take place in hours.

What kind of socks are you using. The ones with little grippers work

well. Gap makes good ones.

Sometimes an area of the foot will stay red. Get it healed up and

then watch it, but it may always be red.

Hope this helps.
