Guest guest
I also live in NJ and the scchool nurse just called me today and stated that I need to state the NAME of my religion and state WHY the vaccines interfere with the practice of my religon. In a message dated 8/30/2004 1:11:47 PM Eastern Daylight Time, laurasucharski@... writes: Here is what I used in NJ, it worked without any problems. There is also a website, search for " religious vaccine exemption " that lists various examples by state. Good luck! In accordance with New Jersey State Law, we hereby certify that the administration of vaccine and other immunizing agents to our child, xxxxxx, conflicts with our sincerely held religious beliefs. We therefore require that our child be exempted from the school immunization requirements in accordance with the exemption clause found in New Jersey's Administrative Code. We believe in God, and that God has created us in His image. In being created in God's image, we are given his perfect immune system. We are bestowed with His gift, the immune system. We believe it is sacrilegious and a violation of our sacred religious beliefs to violate what God has given us by showing a lack of faith in God. Immunizations are a lack of faith in God and His way, the immune system. We believe that God loves us, and will take care of us if we place our trust in Him. We believe that immunizations show no faith in God's promises of protection for us, saying to God that you trust man more than His holy words of protection for us. Our beliefs teach us that children are a gift from God and that we are entrusted with their care and welfare. We are choosing to do our God given duty and responsibility to protect our child by not subjecting our child to the risks of vaccines. " As a consequence, your faith rests not on the wisdom of men but on the power of God. " (1st COR 2:5) " If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, and you are that temple. " (1st COR: 3:17) We are informed of and fully understand the risks of non- immunization for our child. We swear that all of the foregoing statements are true to the best of our information, knowledge and belief. Sincerely, xxxxx
Guest guest
We got a fax from our principal that said the same thing, that we have to give our religion. ly, I believe that for a public school to even ask for your religion should be a violation of the law. We should not need to state our religion because all religious beliefs must be equally honored regardless of the religion. I found in an Illinois law (Illinois School Code) that if the school does not meet 90% compliance with vaccinations, that they will have 10% of their federal funding withheld... hmmm... the plot thickens. Thanks for all your help. I wrote a new letter based upon the first response and added specifics based upon a website that is dedicated to Illinois Vaccination. I will also add some from the NJ letter that worked below (siting lawbooks is one thing, but siting the Bible, well, that to me carries a bit more weight). The school district already knows that they have gotten their first few rounds of immunizations and are trying to use that against us, so what I'm going to do is quote 1Cor and say that we believe that our son's ASD is God's response to our having vaccinated him and that we reject all future vaccinations for all our kids for this reason. Let's see those lawyers argue that! Guest guest
Perhaps - The name of the religion is not a factor in accepting the exemption, HOWEVER NOT providing it is grounds for rejection of exemption. In others, they are just recording the relition for the state/CDC to analize later in a study. For example your first and last name are NOT a factor in the exemption, but NOT providing your name IS. I would recommend you state to the principal that: My lawyer has request you provide a written clairifcation as to HOW the religion name is used for determination of exemption acceptance or rejection. I had a similar problem in the state of PA. I did not provide my income on a form so they rejected my son's public service request. However, my income amount was not a factor in access to public service. They were only collecting the income data. Good luck. > > > > I also live in NJ and the scchool nurse just called me today and > stated that > > I need to state the NAME of my religion and state WHY the vaccines > interfere > > with the practice of my religon. > > > > > > > > In a message dated 8/30/2004 1:11:47 PM Eastern Daylight Time, > > laurasucharski@y... writes: > > > > Here is what I used in NJ, it worked without any problems. Guest guest
It is my understanding that you do need to state why the vaccine interferes with your beliefs, and we wrote several paragraphs regarding that. As to the name, either give them the name of the religious affilitiion you hold or just state that you do not belong to a particular group. > > I also live in NJ and the scchool nurse just called me today and stated that > I need to state the NAME of my religion and state WHY the vaccines interfere > with the practice of my religon. > > > > In a message dated 8/30/2004 1:11:47 PM Eastern Daylight Time, > laurasucharski@y... writes: > > Here is what I used in NJ, it worked without any problems.
