Guest guest
Hi Sharon, It sounds like it was a wonderful experience. Sailing and being on the water has always been my favorite thing todo too! If I could just live beside some reasonably big body of water, I would be happpy and content! Thanks for telling us about this opportunity. Are you going to do this regularly? Where did y0u have to go to do it? Was it near by?

OH yeah the season finishes here in a few weeks because it gets too cold here in Canberra and a lot of disabled can't control there temperature properly etc, It finishes on Anzac Day (April 25th) as we are coming into Winter soon. I loved it so MUCH, I can't wait until Sunday to go again (I have even already repacked my bag (including my breakthrough meds etc this time). > Where did you have to go to do it? I had to go to the other side of town about 15-20 minute drive away or so (not far)to the lake they sail on most of the time but they also sail on hte lake near my home sometimes and the one in the centre of town (about 5 minutes away) sometimes but mostly over on the other side of town (where they have a shed with all of the boats etc and parking and disabled toilets etc) they are hoping to have further improvements made soon like access paths and a little jetty to make launching the boats easier as the volunteers put the sailors in the boats on shore and then drag the boat int o the water, wading in as they have to put the centreboard in wheen the water is deep enough and then they give you a little shove off to get you going. They are hoping to get grants soon. >Was it near by? Pretty Close and I don't mind driving over there as it was SO much fun and I enjoyed it so much. I recommend it to anyone who has a Sailability group near them or who is holidaying near one etc. Sharon > Hi Sharon, > It sounds like it was a wonderful experience.
