Guest guest
We also had problems when going into the DBB/Fab. I ended up e- mailing pictures of her feet to Dr Ponseti. He diagnosed her as having atypical clubfeet and that her feet were never fully corrected. I thought I would mention it sense you mentioned that the feet were quite round. --Less than 5% of infants born with clubfeet may have very severe, short, plump feet with stiff ligaments, unyielding to stretching with a deep transverse skin fold across the sole of the foot and another crease above the heel. These babies require special treatment and may need surgical correction. The results are better if bone and joint surgery can be avoided altogether. Surgery in the clubfoot is invariably followed by scarring, stiffness and muscle weakness which becomes more severe and disabling after adolescence. Her feet are flexable but the skin folds are a good sign. You might want to send pictures to Dr Ponseti to rule out this possibility.
