Guest guest
, . . . . wouldn't it be good if the powers that be tripled the salary when we do triple the work? I work in a place where 15 cent raises are the norm. I'm not making this up! AND total gratitude is expected in return. I'm a florist for a large corporation. When things get too bad I step into the walk-in cooler and take a few deep breaths until I slow down and fight the urge to bite a customer or punch out management! At 5'2 this isn't a reality but the image of it, I have to say, can be perversely satisfying. Someone " out there " is making money. Maybe it's pharmaceutical companies and pharmacies since we have to take copious amounts of drugs to stay even with the work loads AND, in our case, lupus too. Personally I love the saying, " Don't let the turkey's get you down " . There are plenty of good and wonderful things happening in everyday life (satisfying relationships, support groups, good food, flowers, pets, books, and, for me, The Sopranos) to balance out the work-place stressors. You're smart to have a challenging hobby. Stained glass projects provide a creative outlet and also produce beautiful results. I've learned T'ai Chi which I use for a relaxation technique along with deep breathing. Also listen to many, many books on tape (local library) as I work around my place and travel back and forth to work. Gardening is a bit cut down these days because of the sun problem which in the Houston area is a doozie. Still do it though, mostly in the early evenings before sundown. I do NOT wish to sound like a pollyanna but I do understand your situation and can definitely relate. Stay well and hang in there. Love, C.
