Guest guest Posted March 17, 2004 Report Share Posted March 17, 2004 Hi! I'm new to the group so let me introduce myself. I'm 41 and have EDS - figured in out at the first of the year. I've got four kids (6, 8, 10, 12), they have EDS. Sister and Mom have EDS - not sure about my brother, but he definitely has some symptoms. Grandma had EDS. Keeping my eye on my sister's two boys. My girls and I have more of the hypermobility and GI symptoms. My sis, mom and grandma - more of the bleeding problems. Based on all the symptoms I've been able to find I believe we have Classical-Type II. I have decided not to get the offical diagnosis at this time - mostly because of insurance issues. Because we have a family history of diagnosis for most of the symptoms and there is no cure - I figure we will just keep treating the symptoms and educate doctors as we go. Since it appears the following goes along with EDS I'll add that we have ADD and Alzheimers in the family also. Looking forward to learning and sharing with ya'll!
