Guest guest
Hi all, Has anyone been diagnosed with lacunar strokes. I was diagnosed back in 1990 and again in 2000. I and some relatives of mind have been told we have this type of stroke < >. How is that to scare you in your middle years? But, recently [April 2nd, 2004] this diagnosis of fourteen some years was dropped. I finally was tested by a Cerebrovascular doctor at a stroke center who said my so called " strokes " or temporary stroke like symptoms was actually the result of severe BP drops and my severe BP spikes. To that, you have to wonder how does EDS play into tests when you are born with stretchy blood vessels. I do not think all of the six types of EDS have the stretchy blood vessels. But these may be the people who get POTS or low BP when standing too long. I would suppose that any of us tested when our pressure is low would perhaps score less on memory tests. How about spelling Bees. Let me tell you. I NEVER did well on tests where you had to stand for a long time. Thinking back ... my whole school career, I could NOT spell correctly if I stood too long. [You know the method, the whole class stands and one by one someone is eliminated.] And one other bad memory. A special history test that some teacher did. You could not sit down until you got the answer correct. Hmmmm. Well, finally for me, it is nice to know. It might also explain why on tests where we sat for hours, I did well :-). Hey, maybe I should redo my SAT making sure I have my coffee with me. Caro
