Guest guest
Thanks Mike. I'm not familiar with the X teqnique, but I'll try & I'm sure be able to follow your directions. At this point, as I'm sure you can imagine, I'll try al most anything rather than the fusion again. You all may find this hard to believe, but the ankle fusion & the post op course in total, was much more difficult for me. then 2 total knee replacments! I don't think so, but you don't think the " X " energy would interfere or complicate or confuse the electronic bone growth stimulator? It looks like a hard plastic blood pressure cuff. I put it on my ankle for a minimum of 3 hours a day & have been told I can do it for 6 hours, but there's no scientific proof that doing it 3 more hours makes any difference. I belive it's only an electric " charge " that shoots through & stimulates the cells that are the pre-cursers of bone cells. And since the very center/middle of the fusion was still intact, the bone is non displaced, so there was hope that we could use this method, with the AFO, to " close the gap " . +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I should have thought to ask you before & honestly with my own knowledge, I should have been doing more myself. Though, I have tried some of my old Therapeutic Touch, even though it's been @ 20 years since my training. It's like riding a bicycle, you don't forget. But, I don't know know if it's my imagination, but I don't feel what I used to. It could be because it really should be done by someone else, who can identify where the problem is & literally " remove " the problem & then " shake it off " . I'm guessing you know what I mean by that, but the way I learned it, you always had to be sure to shake your hands/arms off to rid yourslef of the pathology, before re-centering yourself. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ And if you want a little giggle, one time, as I was doing the " shaking off " thing, I thought I almost dislocated my shoulder!!! I've since lessened the strength that I use during that part of it. So am I right? Is it impossible really, to do it on yourslef? I figured it was worth a try, but surely it was never brought up nor done in either of the semesters during which I studied it. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Please advise when you have the time. And as I said ages ago, the offer surely still stands if & when you are driving North. I'm just off exit 117 of the Garden State Parkway. And you do get the view of Staten Island, NYC, Coney Island, the Veranzano Bridge & some of the NJ shore. We have plenty of room, even when the kids are home, which they usually aren't, as they are away at college. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I shall await your response with any ideas & keep you updated. I just don't want you to think though, nor misrepresent myself. I am honest & am still throroughly intrenched with " the girls " . I believe, I'm may now be the WWS.... If you can start running energy through your ankle it should help moderate the pain. It can also help jump start the bone fusion. Gently palpate around the ankle. Pick the most tender point and put the tip of your middle finger on that spot. Put the tip of the middle finger of your other hand directly across on the other side of the ankle. Hold for a balance. Keep repeating it all the way around the ankle on any tender points. It's a real possibility that I will have to have my ankle fused again, before the conference. It was done last April (2003), pain increased, Dr. thought the pain was from the screw, so he operated again in August to remove the screw. Pain increased. -------------
