Guest guest
I am slowly typing on Lennie's laptop...please forgive typos. My potassium level is very low, despite faithfully taking HUGE oral Rx doses of Potassium Chloride and Magnesium Oxide. The level has not been even been in the low end of " normal " for months even though the dr. has kept doubling and redoubling the dose. It has been as low as 2.9 and sometimes up to 3.3 I am going for another blood draw in the morning to have it checked again. The potassium is really upsetting my IBS something wicked, and I have signs of severe dehydration and cannot retain food even though I am hungry and have an unquenchable thirst and tremendous craving for salt. I take Florinef 0.1 mg twice a day, but the megadoses of potassium should counter the ill side effects of that. Dr. Francomano was kind enough to call me today twice, and is helping me to find a Nephrologist in Dallas. One that she was kind enough to contact on my behalf cannot see me until May 14. I know that is too long to wait, as my body grows weaker each day and hour. Dr. Francomano said that it sounded to her as though all the Rx potassium I've been taking is " leaking " somewhere in my body. It is overtaxing my kidneys and heart. I have to lay down most all of the time or I fall/faint. Even then, I am having tachycardia in a resting position and feel dizzy. I feel like I'm in a foggy tunnel trying to grope my way out. I want to live, and I MUST live. I have much left unfinished....my children need me more than even they know.....and there are still good things left to experience and to accomplish. I do so very greatly appreciate all good prayers and thoughts. I feel them coming my way, and I am strengthened in spirit by that silent, calm knowledge. I am so blessed to be so loved....and to have so many people to love. Love, ~LoneStarRose~ (~~)
