I think I read that. My doctor told me to still get Bill SSD application in.

His telephone interview was 3/22/04. I had ten days to get it in to keep start

date of 3/22 or have as long as six months from that date. I thought I was

finishing the form April 2 when his health deterioated. I never got back to the

form. Today I am drafting the obit. When my brain untangles I will do the

forms.

Meanwhile, I got a letter where three days after his death, April 6th a SW

from the hospital called Social Services. Yesterday this letter arrived talking

about " lump sum benefits " ??? They state they will call me to answer questions.

Is this the $255 I hear about?

Yes, but you should be eligible for SSI benefits under Bill for " Survivor

Benefits " ......the application would be different from what you started for Bill

before he passed. You should be able to find this info on the Internet.

Sue
