Guest guest
Hi all, For all of you who know that I gave up my pain medications, for months now -- in order to afford Bills pain medicines, I made it. I got my refill today. Just one. Well, I made up for the long wait today. I did not expect Bill to be back in the hospital, but I had planned that after almost four months I ABSOLUTELY had to go back on my pain medicine. That would be for my " double body part. " The medicine is Analpram-HC 2.5%. When you think that it was prescribed for pain that I CANNOT feel. What I mean is it helps to reduce noxious stimulus [pain I cannot feel] which thereby reduces Autonomic Dysreflexia. Woe is this Autonomic Dysfunction. Anywho, in the last few months, my highest in 24 hours BP had climbed back up to 300/200. This medication should get me back down to around 200/150 ... or not. My normal BP in my GP office is now 250/130. I hate when they get used to me without treating me. At least my doctors no longer throw me out of the office. I find that I have to be the strong one in the family now. Can you believe I got eight days to do my hubby's SSD form or get an attorney to do the same. But, that is good. Previously, for the last two years, we had been told that Bill could NOT apply for SSD because he did not know he was sick enough back in 1997. I suppose all Social Services rules are made to be broken. So. I got my medicine, I got my medicine. And, thank goodness for my prescription insurance. I complained to the pharmacist about the cost of ten boxes of Analpram-HC. He then reminded me that each tube cost $50 EACH. The pharmacy looked at me funny tonight and reminded me that my medicine is really fifty bucks a tube or $500 a month. My plan changed and now charge a co-payment that is ten percent of the cost. Nice. But it took me so many months to scrape up the one 50. I am just venting a little here. Caro.
