Clubfoot baby on TLC's A Personal Story

The post on the clubfoot article in Parents' magazine reminded me of an

episode of this show I saw many moons ago, I think while I was still

pregnant?. I saw a couple on there who's baby girl had bilateral CF. They

didn't look all that bad, from what I could tell, but I didn't catch the

beginning.

The doctor recommended surgery (I hope a simple tenotomy, judging from

the look of her feet) and the parents were hesitant about it at first. They

quoted a family member: " I think they're making the right decision. " As if they

had a choice! I guess I have to think about how shocked they must've been

and didn't know what to do. With my husband and I, we knew what the doctor

was going to say and also knew it was the only option, if we ever wanted

to walk. I have a beef with this story being on A Personal STory (which I

think has been pulled off the air) since they are mainly about plastic surgery,

etc. - elective things people do to make themselves feel good. This doesn't

exactly qualify!

Did anyone else see this episode? I was stunned they were even covering the

topic.
