believe what happened to me!!!!!

Are you ready for a good laugh? Thursday started out as a

typical day. was off work and we did the usual things, go to walmart ,

cut the grass and such. It was about 6 pm when he finished the yard. He usually

goes for a ride on the motorcycle afterwards, this time I deceided to go with

him. At first we were just going for a short ride so he could cool off. But it

was so pretty out we ended up riding longer and got a little lost. No big deal,

we had a pretty good idea which way to turn to get back home. We were just down

the road from our house on the 4 lane hwy. and out from of nowhere

" bambi " came up and hit us!! It was coming from the side and it was

around the handlebars, kicked out his foot to keep it from hitting us

sideways and knocking us over, but it ended up smacking me in the knee. Wow,

did that ever hurt!!! (and still does!) He pulled over to the side of the road

and I was in so much pain I thought I was going to pass out or throw up or

something. Since we were so close to the house I told him to take me home. He

carried me into the bathroom and I took off my jeans and my knee was already

swelling. I waited about 10 mins and told him I needed to go to the E.R. That

was fun. They said nothing was broken but I would be pretty sore for a few

days. They were right. But they didn't give me a shot for the pain, they just

sent me home with 2 mepergan (sp?) I had those taken by 4 a.m.

and still not much pain relief. The E.R doc didn't want to give me an rx for

anything and I had to go to my regular doc the next day.He gave me some

percocet. Thank God!!! He said if it still hurts next week he was going to do

another xray and an MRI. He said some breaks won't show up until the next week.

I still can't put any weight on it, turn it or put it out straight. So now I'm

on cructhes. Can you believe it!! A freakin' deer!!!! We are so lucky, if it

had darted out in front of us we would have flipped over, if hadn't

kicked it out to the side of us we would have fell over. God was really looking

out for us. We could both be dead or hurt really bad. My knee does hurt really

bad but it's a small thing compared to what could have happened. Well, it

was right at dusk and everybody says that's not a good time to ride because of

the deer. So, I guess we won't be riding at dusk anymore. What an ordeal. The

thoughts of what could have happened are still stuck in my head. We are so

lucky. Helen
