Guest guest
I had a good day yesterday. The hospital called to set up a cat scan needle biopsy. I was not sure at all the surgeon would arrange it as he said he did not know if it could be done. Of course I had the same biopsy on the same area last year if he would have looked. The oncologist had set it up. Then for over a year I have tried to talk to him about a balloon stretch on the rectum. He keeps just saying they don't work. When the GI tried to do a colonoscopy and could not he said I needed a balloon stretch. I decided yesterday to call the GI Dr. office and ask if he did them. YES he does. I was thrilled to hear that. He is just a great Dr and my granddaughter used to work for him. He still calls me Grandma:) I will be glad to get it done and better yet he will do it. Also the same Dr that did my needle biopsy last year will do it on the 26th which relieves some of my worry. He was very good at it. Today the surgeons receptionist called to tell me I needed blood work. I asked her to add on the CEA and she said why torture yourself:) Well her call saved me from calling to cancel my appt with him Friday. I just told her to cancel it as I wanted to wait for results of this biopsy. Of course I have no intention of going back to him but at least got a fast appt for the biopsy. It dawned on me today that anyone in their right mind would not be happy to have a needle biopsy half through their body or a balloon stretch:) I was delighted! I felt better that this is the same spot that also showed in PET last year and when biopsy was not cancer. Now with it showing same spot this year and has grown slightly I have to wonder if the PET or the biopsy was wrong. When the hospital called yesterday I did ask her to make a note I would like the same results as last year:) If I do then get my balloon stretch I think I may be able to leave the house and lead a normal life again after 2 years. And I will be able to eat good healthy food! Hil
