Hi Barb,

I'm glad you discovered the Salvation Army Thrift Stores......aren't they wonderful?

That's the only place I can afford to shop any more.....if it wasn't for them This Old Wolf would be totally "NEKKID!" I get all my clothes, and hats there except for underwear.

The only problem is that I have to do so much walking and searching .....I am always completely exhaused when I get through.....but it's worth it.

At the store near me, they have a `Senior Discount Day' every week....and clothes and apparell are 30% off. Call them to see if they have a day like this at your store!

They also usually have a big sale on Holidays.....sometimes as much as 50% off....ask to be put on their mailing list so you can get notices of upcoming sales!.....I also do the dollar store thing too.....nothing over a dollar....which is great for paper towels, light bulbs, batteries, rubber gloves, trash can liners.....etc....etc. things I would buy at the grocery store and pay 3 times as much for!!

A good day

Hi everyone,

My hubby is gone for the weekend so my sister and I planned to spend yesterday together. I need some new tops and some other clothes for this time of year because everything I have is too small. Now you have to understand that I usually hate shopping. I told sis that I wanted to go to the used clothing stores because I'm almost all the way off of the Pred now and I will be losing weight. She said she knew just the place and she took me to the Goodwill Store. I thought she was joking but NOT! OMG we had a ball. I found 2 jumpers, 2 skirts, 2 blazers, 4 shirts and all for under $20. We spent hours in there.

From the Goodwill we went for a drive and ended up at the other end of town so we went to a Family Dollar Store. Yup, I spent more money. I got 2 caprie outfits, an ice tea pitcher and a cute little turtle wearing a hat to put into my flower bed. We left there and went next door to K Mart where I got a pair of shorts and 4 more tops and 2 pair of sandles.

We then went for another ride around that end of town and then about 8:00 we went to Olive Garden and had a wonderful and relaxing meal. By then my legs were telling me they were not used to this kind of treatment. LOL Too bad legs, we are going to be doing more and more of this!

Today I am sore. Some of it is just from using muscles that I have not used much in the past year or so but the neck, shoulders and upper arms and the disease. I'm sure I'll get a lot of it worked up or riled up as the day goes on. I plan to make rhubarb jam and some rhubarb pies for the freezer. I have to wash all of the wonderful clothes that I got and I want to work outside some today. I will not be on the computer much until evening.

I hope some of you are able to have a nice weekend also. They come so far and few between and we must charish any that we get. I laughed so much yesterday and I am sure people thought we were idiots but who cares. We had a ball.

hugs and wishes for a pain free day.

barb
