Guest guest
There are a lot of bald eagles in my part of Nova Scotia now ... Last weekend I saw 113 eagles. ------------------- I know what you mean about how much fun it can be watching Eagles. We used to see them all the time when we lived in Alaska - and never did tire of the sight. One of my favorite sightings was on a business fishing trip on the company boat in the bay out of Seward. We watched an Eagle swoop down from a tree, take a salmon out of the water, and fly off. Since I was the only one on the boat at that point who had not yet caught a fish, one of the other guys commented " Looks like that Eagle just got your fish. " My response was " He's welcome to it. I've caught hundreds of salmon over the years. That's the only time I have ever seen an Eagle do that. " My other favorite sighting was one time in Valdez. I watched an Eagle with a salmon in its talons get chased and surrounded by four Sea Gulls. They tormented the daylights out of that poor Eagle in mid-flight until he finally dropped the salmon. One of the Sea Gulls caught it in mid-air and tore off in the other direction - chased and tormented by the other three Sea Gulls. It was like a slap- stick movie.
