And I can eat it without having trouble with the RSD as long as it stays warm out and I keep heat on the shoulder! It is sort of a funny sight... Staying as ridged as I can but I am already getting ansey.... which ... is why I am at the computer when I should not be! LOL! Over and out! Guest guest
Hi Debbi, I just read about ice being so bad for RSD. I didn't know that until now... Too bad, because for the rest of the injury it could have been so helpful... But ice cream is a good soul medicine by oral, LOL... I know just what you mean... When you need to stay still and really need to just rest, that is when you get the most antsy... It is so funny... I can be so wiped out much of the time by fatigue etc., but when I have something special going on which forces me to stay still, lie down or something like that - then I suddenly feel like doing lots of things... And end up doing something I really shouldn't do... But I guess that most things are easier _not_ to do than staying off the computer... Now that is a tough one... Ooops, I was about to say, LOL... Sorry for laughing... I was about to say that at least you have your laptop... Well, having the laptop sure is the reason why you are in that situation to begin with... What I really meant, was that sitting with a laptop on your lap sure is better than sitting at an ordinary desk... I really hope that you can get that RSD calmed down... Darn thing... A block sure sounds like a good idea, so that you can get the pain somewhat under control... I don't know about RSD, but I have quite a bit of burning nerve type pain over the years, and it is tough to deal with. I don't know if there is a specific name for what I have been having, but I'm sure there is. I just don't know it... We have talked about checking out a few things when I go to the rare disorder center this fall, as they have a doc who does a study on neurological stuff with EDS, amongst them polyneuropathy which seems quite common. I hope that the doc will be back in a full job soon, so he can go on with his study, unfortunately he has been on a sick leave for a long time... It will be interesting to hear more from him in the future. He is convinced that such problems are very common in EDS, but it has not been documented well and probably is very underdiagnosed... I hope that your mom and dad and others can take good care of you and come to help you out as much as possible the next few days or more... Sending you lots of positive thoughts... Really gentle hugs, Aase Marit >In a message dated 5/1/2004 16:48:49 PM Pacific Daylight Time, >aase.m@... writes: >hope that you can manage to do NOTHING now, just >let others pamper you, bring you ice packs and something yummy to eat >My mom and dad brought me ice cream ... that is yummy! >And I can eat it without having trouble with the RSD as long as it stays warm >out and I keep heat on the shoulder! >It is sort of a funny sight... > >Staying as ridged as I can but I am already getting ansey.... which ... is >why I am at the computer when I should not be!
