Guest guest
I just like the Chinese names...they seem important to me, so... I've tried doing both sides at once -- I can try/do to balance the sides that way, so I try that at least once a day (using my thumbs, as hard as I feel necessary for 30 sec. - 1 m.). But more useful for me has been one side then the other, using the opposing hands; the leverage is more direct. This also about the same timing. The others most useful for me, though, have been the Heavenly Pillars (B10) -- anxiety and stress have always been migraine triggers, as well as being the more pathological of my personality traits -- I've kind of always operated in fight-or-flight, normal = panic mode. So these get as much attention as GB20 for me, and frequently they have a more intense reaction. I go through those four points, spending a couple of minutes at least twice and usually about four times a day on them. Apart from them, I deal with the " fires " -- wherever it seems most important. Joining the Valley (LI4), Jaw Chariot (St6), Three Mile Point (St36) as well as shoulders, arm points around the elboes and wrists, are the ones the get visited daily now. They get varying amounts of attention and pressure, usually about equivalent, but only once a day usually. And while I said at the beginning of this I'd be gentler this time around, in practice that's varied. Some days just seem to require more than gentle pressure, and I've been quite forceful occasionally. Demands of the day, I suppose. BTW, tinnitus operates right next door to the primitive brain's fight-or-flight center, and there's a theory that it in fact tinnitus sufferers are always in panic mode because of bleed-over (as well as just wanting to get the hell away from that infernal sound....) It's certainly seemed sound to me, and those who know me. Mark
