Guest guest
Joyce, , I've been going through my first time ever with SI problems. (I go to a Spine Therapy Clinic) The therapist had me do the things suggested. (all but the dye stuff). I now use a lift in one shoe because leg inequality-not from scoliosis, but from one leg being 1/2 " longer than the other. Also have had 3 low back surgeries, the last at L5-S1 level. And of course have arthritis in the area.plus scar tissue and all that... I've been doing gentle stretches to relax the piriformus muscle. (it's in the sciatic nerve area approx. in the middle of the buttock) This has helped immensely with sciatic nerve pain. The more it relaxes, it seems the SI feels a tad better. I have no idea why the SI went out, but I'm guessing my general laxity, plus spasming of the piriformus had some play in it. This whole business starts in when my arthritic hip on that side subluxes/dislocates(?) forward. The SI is a good deal more comfortable now, but still pops and cracks. A bit off topic, this doesn't have to do with the SI, but the spine in general. Does yours ever " thunk " when you walk? Some mornings it feels so loose, and with each step I can feel/hear it " thunk " with each step. It's done it for years, and bugs me. Do you know what this is? CindyH Wisc. ~~ From: ngsamuelson Joyce, I'm so sorry to know how bad your SI joints are. It sounds absolutely agonizing! I will try to make some suggestions, but you may have already tried them.
