Guest guest
Welcome, ! My favorite breakfasts are whole grain hot cereals (7-grain or 9-grain) & fresh fruit. I like it a little sweeter, so I add a sugar-free Torani syrup to my hot cereal and lots of skim milk. If you eat a big bowl of hot cereal, you will not feel hungry for a loooong time. My mom, who is diabetic, taught me this trick. A big bowl of hot cereal and fruit in the morning, and her blood sugar has been much more stable all day, even to the point of not needing meds to regulate it. (She is also turned vegan, so there are other elements to her regime that have produced this result, however, when I started eating breakfast with her, I noticed it helped my cravings throughout the day, too.) A quicker hot cereal is hot couscous. it's like making instant oatmeal. You just pour hot water (or milk) over the couscous and let it sit for a couple minutes, then fluff it with a fork and add whatever mix-ins you like. (again, I love SF torani syrups for this.) For a breakfast or snacktime sweet treat, I add couscous to whatever flavor of FF/SF instant pudding I'm in the mood for. I make the pudding with a little extra milk, so it's creamier, then stir in the fluffed couscous. My sister, who is also doing Core, with great success, loves to have eggs for breakfast. She makes scrambled eggs with salsa, and has that with fruit. I don't find the eggs stick to my ribs as well as the cereal, but we are each different, aren't we?
