Guest guest
I am very interested in what you say here. I started chelating my son after we did a DMSA challenge when we lived in the UK about 5 years ago. His levels of Mercury were very high. At the time I did not do a Hair test. We have done about 25rounds of chelation on and off with DMSA and ALA and now that we live in Trinidad and my DMSA has run out I do only ALA. Recently I have been thinking I should check to see what levels are showing now and also I would like to see if the mercury is coming out. I remember reading that the ALA excretes through stool and the DMSA excretes via the urine. I was about to ask for your advice on the list as to what was the best type of test to do now. Should I do a hair test? Or should I have the urine or stool checked. Also where should I have the tests done, I am pretty much on my own with the chelation. I don't have a doctor here who is willing to help. However early on my brother who is a doctor in the UK got me started by talking, at my request, to Dr Amy Holmes and we got the DMSA through the pharmacist she used. Whichever test I want done I would have to send to the USA. I have a friend who has a lab here and he is willing to assist me in sending the samples, what would you recommend. Also I notice that when I first started chelation my son's yeast would act up and his behaviour would become very bad for a few days. Now however he is much better when being chelated and is worse when we stop. I just wanted to find out if there is any reason why I should not keep doing the chelation all the time. I give 20 mg ALA every 2 hours up to midnight and then one dose at 3 am and then I start with 2 hour dosing at 6 am again. He has been an extremely happy child in the last 4 days while we have been doing this. I stopped at 8 pm last night and this am he was a little aggressive and started hitting me. If his moods are good on ALA I would like to keep him on it all the time, what do you advise? I would be grateful for any advice. Many thanks Nalini [ ] Re: Urine test result - please Help - what does it mean? High Lead. > > my 3.10 year old's (34 pounds) urine toxic metal test (from DDI) just > > came. His lead was very high. Guest guest
My family seem to do better with longer rounds (5 to 7 days), but we still as many days off then on. I just think you have more on days compared to redistribution days in this way. Dagmar. He is still responding to chelation so you want to continue to do it. I'd suggest a hair test to check his COPPER and other things. If it looks very normal, keep chelating anyway. If you want to chelate all the time, you need to watch copper. If you wanted to do, say 4 or 5 days on and 3 or 2 off it would probably be OK as long as his current hair copper is not above the middle of high yeloow. Andy . . . . . . . . . . Guest guest
Andy thank you so much for that. I will get a hair test done and see what his copper is like.
