I put the gun to DH's head when I was 29 and told him I was going to

have a baby that year whether he wanted one or not as I wanted to have

my first before I was 30. He knew I was serious and we got married a

couple of months later and made it with a week to spare, but only

because DS1 was 2 weeks early. Had DD1 when I was 32, DS2 when 34 and

nearly 37 when DD2 was born. Used to think that age had set in as was

definitely not full of energy at 37 but now realise that it was having

4 under the age of 7 that was the problem.

At coffee mornings used to feel very old at some and very young at

others.

DH was 33 when we had first and lots of people thought that was quite

old but have since met lots of Mums who married men in their middle to

late 40's and they are now heading for 60 whilst mine is only heading

to 50 (well he is 47 I think).

It's when all your friends start to having 50th birthdays that the age

thing sets in......I used to think my parents were so oooold!!!!!! Mum

is 68 now and Dad 70 and they have numerous grandchildren and

greatgrandchildren and my youngest brother has just had his first baby

and youngest sister hasn't started her family yet.

In the end age doesn't really matter ..... it's all to do with

attitudes.....my DH used to resent his dad not playing footie with him

because he was so old...48 when he was born(mother 44)....but I

recently pointed out to him that he has not exactly been great at

playing footie, or playing in pool but does spend lots of time

chatting and minding and so age doesn't have to matter....

Whew, you would know I have been away for a while......and going

again tomorrow or Friday for weekend....what am I going to do for the

summer when I decamp for 11 whole weeks....

BTW

A Cuidiu-ICT yahoogroup has been set up - so if any of you have

cousins, sisters, friends etc living here or coming soon please put

them on and we can chat....
