Guest guest
I get very anxious at night. I make myself a mug of StsWort tea (with 1 teaspoon of herbs), let it cool down and put in a bottle. From there I fill a dropper bottle. I use between 1 and 4 droppers before I go to bed, add a minute amount of honey and a little hot water. This helps me calm down and go to sleep easier. Dagmar. [ ] O/T:melatonin and typical adolescents Does anyone have any opinions on a typical healthy female adolescent child--12 years old--who has anxiety issues-- who has had good success with 1.5 mg of melatonin to help her sleep? The melatonin really works well but everyone from the pediatrician to the local pharmarcist has cautioned the parent (my sister) about giving melatonin to an adolescent girl because of the usual hormonal changes. Guest guest
, I would recommend that you get the 12 year old's hormones tested (saliva) before quitting the melatonin. Best test is from ZRT Labs (www,salivatest.com). Also, if she has gone through puberty, I would consider giving her natural progesterone cream - after hormone testing. Progesterone cream (which can be purchased over the counter) really helps anxiety & other emotional problems. Our environment is awash in estrogenic pesticides & hormones that contribute to anxiety (and many other problems) if NOT balanced with natural progesterone. This affects men, fertile women & children, not just menopausal women. Using the cream bypasses the Cytochrome P450 liver detox enzymes which most of our children are already deficinet in - so don't let any doctor talk you into taking pills or synthetic progestins which make emotional problems even worse. Check out Lee, MD's website at www.johnleemd.com. I would recommend that all women read his books, WHAT YOU DOCTOR MAY NOT TELL YOU ABOUT PREMENOPAUSE. Most of the progesterone a woman makes is when she ovulates. Due to our environmental hormone toxins, many young girls and women do NOT ovulate (you can still have periods and not ovulate) so they don't make enough progesterone. Also, fat cells produce estrogen in men, women & children and their bodies don't make enough progesterone to balance the excess estrogen. That's why overweight men & boys have " boobies " . Also, beer is estrogen. You can take the Hormone Balance Test for men & women at: http://www.johnleemd.com/store/resource_hormonetest.html.
