Guest guest
Hi Cheryl, I know where Elk Grove is! You and I are practiculy neighbors.) I live in the far east bay, in Oakley, which is near Antioch and Brentwood. We don't keep alcohol in our house either. I don't drink, and obviously hubby can't, so there is none around. He is a self admitted alcoholic. He knows he has a problem with alcohol, and that he can't drink. Of course, that doesn't mean that he doesn't want to drink. I think alot of the failure mentality that Tim (hubby) deals with has been helped lately by my illness. (With as weird as that sounds, lol.) I have been more dependent on him for strength lately, where I used to be a very self sufficient and independent woman. Now he sees a " purpose " , I guess...where when he is on a downswing, he just feels useless, hopeless and like a failure. You know as much as you tell someone who is depressed that they are not a failure, it doesn't matter to them...they still feel the same. I am so thankful to have found someone to share this with. It is such a dark illness, and hard to talk about sometimes, and alot of my friends just don't understand. I am glad you are here to talk to and share with.) I hope you are having a wonderful and pain free day! Kim in CA
