I suspected it was my jaw dislocating and went to a audiologist. This is correct. My jaw dislocates in my sleep and when it happens it closes the ear canal; the wax has no where to go but back into the ear. They suggest a jaw brace; the type you wear in your sleep -- which I also need for other issues; but is not covered on my insurance. When you take her in have the audiologist put his scope in her ear and have her open her jaws; he can see that it is closing. Mine told me 'those are the tiniest ear canals I have ever seen'. I have also been told that about my esophigus, and tonsils.
Guest guest
Just read this. I'm behind in my e-mails. I'll be taking her to the ear dr after this infection clears up. Gotta at least get all that wax out, and I'm not about to do it. I'll have him check her jaw, like you said. It's just so strange that she got this infection (both ears now) and didn't have any other symptoms that you usually get with ear infections. Thanks a lot!
