DMSA Dosage Question

After 3 years of waiting,I finally have a bottle of DMSA in my

hands. My doctor wants me to give my 67 pound son 100 mg to start

and then give him 400 mg all at once for a challenge test. The files

section here says the dosage should be between 1/8 and 1/2 mg per

pound which would equal about 35mg per dose at 4 hour intervals.

Is it dangerous to give him 400mg at one time?

Dangerous-Oh ya..... Don't do it.

After starting my son on 25mg every 4 hours- I had to drop it down to

10mg. I cant imagine what 400 would do to him....

I think that's craziness! I would never subject my son to that kind of dose

and he is an adult.

That is a good way to put it! I wouldn't take it either, and

I weigh about 170, so the dose for me would be SO much smaller

than for a little 3 year old. When I was chelating with ALA,

I eventually went up to 300 mg per dose BUT I DID THAT OVER

THE PERIOD OF A YEAR and very slowly.
