Guest guest
Hi everyone, and especially Mike, I wanted to report on the physical therapy. The 1st session was Wed. I was NOT impressed at all! I didn't think I had the right person giving the therapy, but went through it anyway. It consisted of heat for 10 min. and was given a list of exercises to do at home. That was IT! Boy, was I ticked! I went back today, really to complain. Well today, the girl that I had Wed. was not there, and I had the person I THOUGHT I was to have on Wed. THIS one, I liked. She explained the purpose of the exercises, and changed one of them and added one. She ASKED me how I was feeling, which the other one did not. I told her I felt worse, and that both days I had gotten up with the same damn headache. She said she wanted to feel around my neck, and I said that was fine. She found some very tender spots, and said she would like to just move me around a bit, and that if it hurt, or I didn't like it, she would stop immediately. She wrapped a towel around her arm, and then wrapped her arm around my head. She then moved my head around somehow (The towel was kind of over my eyes, so I couldn't see what she was doing or how) and with her fingers, found the bad spots and kind of just pushed and moved them gently back and forth slowly. I asked her if she was doing something like acupressure, and she said yes, she was. She did it to both sides of my neck a couple different times. She said that I may not notice much difference tonight, but by tomorrow, she was hoping I would feel better. I asked if she would work on me in the future, as the other therapist didn't explain anything to me at all! I also asked her about getting some type of support thing for my posture while at work, and she said that she prefer I didn't do that right now, because if I did, it would be harder for her to see if I get better, and which exercises, etc. are helping and which are getting stronger, etc. Now that made sense to me. The other therapist said she thought it would be OK, and I showed her 3 different support things, ranging in price from $6 to $60, and she said any of them would probably work. Period. Mike, does what she did sound familiar? Next time I go, or maybe even before I go, I'm going to say that if I can't have her, I don't want to go back there. Supposedly, the other one is a Physical Therapist, and not just an aide or whatever, but to ME, she was WORTHLESS! How in the word do they get anywhere if they don't CARE about the patients?!?!? God, I've HAD it with the whole medical profession right now! I hope what she did works, because it's not any better yet. Thanks for any input!
