I'm posting a little earlier today about my no smoking cause I

REALLY WANT TO SMOKE NOW! But, I thought if I posted something, it

would help this particualar urge.

Last night, when I picked up from her friend's house, I knew

I didn't want to go to the door, cause her friend's dad is a real

talker.

I told him immediately that I'm trying to quit smoking, and I'm sort

of hybernating, cause I'm so irritable.

He says " oh, you need a lot of support! My brother has been

addicted to every drug you could name, and he can't quit smoking.

He says cigs are more addictive than heroine.

BLAH BLAH BLAH!

I couldn't get out of there fast enough! Like he was helping!

Oh, he made me so irritated with his babbling about how addictive

cigs are, that I wanted to run to the store to get some.

Then, my wonderful hubby leaves his pack laying around for me to see.

I asked him to keep it out of my site, and all the lighters too.

This morning was a bit stressful getting off to school (she

missed the bus), so I had to drive her. I almost stopped at the

store to get some, but thankfully I haven't showered yet, and look a

mess.

Then Tom is going outside and smoking his regular this morning.

I wish he'd just go to work! Now - that's a first for me to say!

Ok, I got my gum, and I got my hands working. I think I'm gonna be

ok with this urge. I think it's passing.

I think today is gonna be the hardest day yet.

If I do slip, I'll tell you. Then I'll feel bad, and try try again.

My drs words are still going through my head " You can't expect to do

everything at once! " Oh - I gotta get it all out of my head!

Now, when I chew the gum, I can feel my heart beat increase, and I

get a kind of wired feeling.

I think I'll go do my tai chi Or however you spell it.

UUGGHH> don't smoke don't smoke don't smoke don't smoke don't smoke

don't smoke don't smoke don't soke don't smoke

(God, it looks like that part in King's book " The Shining "

all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

I hope I don't go ballistic and try to murder my family!

That's a joke - in case you haven't read The Shining - or seen the

movie.
