I just had that conversation this morning with a lady from church. She has several grandchildren who live with her, and another one coming for Thanksgiving and she was asking for suggestions for Thanksgiving traditions that she might start. I suggested that she explain to the children what it means to be thankful/grateful and then to go around the table and ask everyone what they're thankful for. She looked at me like I had two heads and made some comment about 'after the year she's had....'. Well, you KNOW she got my soapbox lecture right then and there.
