I think that Vietnamese super strong stuff sounds VERY different &

scary almost, to me.

---------------

Scary and burning? You want to talk scary and burning?

One of my classmates in massage school was from the ines. I

did quite a few exchanges with her. She had been having some low

back problems that I was able to help with so she decided to " be

nice " to me and gave me a bottle of something she brought from

home. I can't remember what she called it, but it was a local

village concoction that her family had used for generations.

Hot? I swear that it could have been used to melt rubber or

cauterize open wounds. I won't even bother to describe what it

smelled like, unless the smell was my own burning flesh when she put

it on me. And no, I do not still have it around. It left my

possession as soon as I could find the nearest appropriate

receptacle.

But speaking of burns, I will pass along a bit of trivia. Everyone

is familiar with WD40. Well, a chiropractor I used to see when I

lived in Oregon many years ago was a personal friend of the inventor.

What is not generally known is that the name comes from the fact

that the formula is based on being 40 percent DMSO. DMSO is a very

common treatment in vetinary medicine for burns and wound healing.

It has not, however, ever been approved for human use by the FDA.

Do not construe the following as a " recommendation. " I am just

passing along my own personal experiences with using it. I keep a

can of it in my emergency supplies as part of my first aid gear and

have done so for years. I have used it three times for severe sun

burns and twice for regular burns, including one third degree burn

on my right hand from a hot fireplace. Regular spraying with WD40

was the sole treatment I used in all five instances. I don't even

have a trace of a scar, even from the worst burn.

Yes, I have the gel packs and other standard burn treatments as well

in my kit. But I also keep the WD40 on hand as a quick emergency

treatment. Just passing along some trivia that might be of interest.
