To not pig out on Thanksgiving is unAmerican, Communist and pinko so every

year, I have pigged out in some way. This year I said to myself " Self, I

don't really want to pig out and I don't want to starve either so what to

do? " So, we bought two large bowls of cooked frozen veggies (broccoli and

cauliflower) to dinner at our DS and DIL's home. I loaded up my plate with

mostly those and some green beans someone else brought and a spoonful of

potatoes, a small amount of meat and a piece of yam. And I even went back

for seconds (on veggies mostly!). So I didn't get the flaque for doing

something unAmerican like not pigging out.

After din din, went out on our scooters-trikkes for 1 hour! Came home, did

second part of w/o while reading email (on my set of pedals by the

computer!)

This is the first Thanksgiving I have not pigged out! Great feeling....

Hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving!

Excellent Sue! When you consider that 60% of Americans get NO form of

exercise and 60% of Americans are obese, well I think I'd like to be

" UNAmerican " in this sense, wouldn't you?

So this UNAmerican girl did the same thing.

I pre-journaled everything I planned to eat before I left.

Before dinner I ate some cut veggies that I brought.

I filled half my plate with a salad that I brought.

Estimated a 4 oz serving of turkey, half cup of mashed potatoes, 1/3 cup

cranberries, took some fresh cooked veggies, a dinner roll and that was it!

Dessert was one slice of 2 point pumpkin pie with cool whip free, that I

brought

The only thing I hadn't pre-journaled was a fruit salad my sister-in-law

made. She made it with all non-fat items (it was kind of like Watergate

salad) so I had about 1/3 cup of that.

It may sound un-American, but I actually took a gander at measuring cups

while baking the afternoon before we left. I wanted to make sure I had a

good idea of what 1/3 cup and 1/2 cup looked like so my eyes wouldn't be

bigger than my measuring implements.

Came home with 6 points to spare. Ate a few more veggies and later in the

evening was able to have some grand light ice cream with berries on it and

some cereal.
