Guest guest
It really depends on the person; some women produce more estrogen naturally than others. In my case, I developed fibroids (and they got big and out of control) before I went on the pill. I'm on the pill now and they came back about 2 years post-myo, but my bleeding is manageable and they haven't grown to an insane size. So for me at least, the pill seems to be making a positive impact. My doctor also told me that the difference between the amount of estroger birth control pills contain vs. the amount a woman produces herself is negligible. But I tend to think that's a pat answer; it depends on your own physiological makeup, diet, etc. Faith > Through the research I have done on the net, I was under the > impression that Birth Control Pills increase your chances of having > uterine fibroids. Guest guest
I agree, it does depend on teh person. I have been taking BC since 17. My fibroid was just discoverd 6 weeks ago. I never had any major bleeding, clotting or cramping until 7 months ago. As the months went by the bleeding, clotting and cramping got worse, even on BC. I would bleed for up to 10 days and now have a bit of breakthrough bleeding the 2 weeks before my period along with those nasty cramps.
