Hi Bonnie

Its weird to realize which doctors will provide the most support for

you. i would never have guessed that the on campus doctor would try

to do more for me pain wise then a doctor specializing in the

field. I am definatly seriously considering dumping the 'shock-a-

doc' as you call him (Great term :) ). And the GP at school is

working on getting me into another pain clinic as well so hopefully

that goes well also. Thank you for your reply :)

Outcome of second dr appt of the day

Well the second appointment went remarkable better than the first

one.

So at least now I do have a doctor that is 'fighting' for

me and actually believes that a 22 year old can actual be in pain.

Thank you again for all your support and I will keep you updated :)

Stacey - I'm soooo glad that your on campus MD is fighting for you!!! I'd say,

good riddance to that " shock a doc " idiot!!!!

If she is willing to help you....go for it!!! The worst thing that can happen

is that you won't have any pain relief...but you will at least be trying!!!

Good luck with the studies!

Stacey, I forgot to ask you earlier what kind of anti-depressant you are on?

Thanks!

Outcome of second dr appt of the day

Well the second appointment went remarkable better than the first

one. After a brief discussion on the anti-depressants (decided to

leave them as they are as they seem to be working quite well) she

asked how the pain clinic had gone. Well after i had told her about

that she was very upset. She said that that was an injust way to

treat someone. She has decided that she wants me to see another

pain clinic in connection with the health center where my OS is

based out of (It's University Hospital in London Ontario). She also

said that yes strengthening is important but you cant strengthen

anything when you are in that much pain and have no energy from

sleeping because you will just end up hurting yourself worse. She

was appaled that he 'dismissed' me for 3 weeks until his nurse was

in the office. She has decided that she wants to find out how much

of a narcotic pain killer i am actually needing. She gave me a

perscription for percocet (along with an anti-nauseant just in case)

and wants me to keep a pain diary for the week. She told me to not

try to fight off the pain but if it hurts to take something, at

least for this week, to see if things can get under control and then

maybe move to a long acting narcotic (mscontin) or the duragesic

patches. So at least now I do have a doctor that is 'fighting' for

me and actually believes that a 22 year old can actual be in pain.

Thank you again for all your support and I will keep you updated :)
