Guest guest
Last week someone shared a way to calculate points without a calculator, and I wanted to share my method, as someone may find it easier to remember. I, for one, have not used the cardboard calculator for 2 years, since I learned this formula. I'm sure it's the same formula as the one given last week, just easier for me to remember. Hope someone else can use it: 1) multiply the calories by 2 2) double the fiber grams (max of 4) and subtract from the fat grams - take this number and multiply by 10 3) add the numbers from step 1 and step 2 (or subtract if you ended up with a negative value in step 2) 4) move the decimal over 2 positions to the left and round to a whole number for instance: Cal:150, Fat: 4 gm, fiber: 1 grams 1) 150X2=300 2) [4 - (1x2)]X10=20 3) 300+20=320 4) 320----->3.2 ----------> 3 points
