Guest guest Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 Greetings, 1. Current heart condition. eg. lone paroxymsal afib., svt, etc I suffer from AFIB of what type I dont really know. It's very difficult to clasify some people . 2. Frequency of afib episodes (eg. 1 a day, 5 a month, etc.), before ever taking magnesium supplement Daily sometimes several episodes generally short duration but ocasionally lasting up to 11 hrs. 3. average duration of afib episode prior to magnesium supplementation. 2hrs average. 4. Date you started magnesium supplement. About 18 months ago. 5. average daily dose (the dose you think is therapeutic) Always take 500mg (1 *250 morning and evening ). This is 160% RDA 6. type of magnesium (eg. oxide, citrate, etc.) MgO Magnesium Oxide. 7. Frequency of afib episodes while on magnesium supplement treatment. None unless I go a bit overboard with heavy work in the garden or over indulge in Alcahol. 8. average duration of each afib episode after magnesium supplement treatment. Never longer than 3 hrs and only happened 4 times in the last 18 months. 9. your gender and age. Male 59. It would be interesting ask what other medication people are on. It is possible that magnesium suppliments are more usefull to peole on Flecainide acetate than other medications. As a matter of interest I stopped taking the magnesium a month or so after I started just to check that it was the 'stopper' of the AFIB. It took 3 days but I did revert back to having AFIB attacks several times a day. I very quickly went back on it. It's very cheap here and I purchase mine from Holland and Barret. I also take 100mg of Flecainide Acetate twice a day. 500 mg of fish oil twice a day. 2 * 75mg Aspirin once in the morning. 150mg irbesartan once a day in the moring. ( one of the best BP reducing medications Very interesting how it works.) 40mg Simvastatin once a day in the evening. Best of luck with the survey. If you need any other info, please ask. Quote
