Guest guest
Deanna (and anyone else allergic to Ibu) Please be very careful and talk with your pharmacist! My son had an allergic reaction to ibuprofen when he was 2. He had taken Motrin before with no problems, but like you had a severe reaction and did stop breathing. Luckily we were at the doctors office when it happened (in the parking lot ready to go home). IT was so scary! Anyway, the doctor told me to talk to the pharmacist about the allergy. The pharmacist gave us a list of things to avoid. The part Austin is allergic to is the salilic acid. This is found in many things...including chapstick, shampoo, Aleve, aspirin, many medications, etc. Since we don't know exactly what they will do, we avoid them all. I do know if he uses certain chapsticks his lips swell up and get sore. Anyway, talk with your pharmacist. They know a lot more about meds than docs and they can give you the heads up. Better to be safe than sorry!!! Hugs, Jerri
