Guest guest
Just went through the books for total expenses in 2003 for the hip resurface. I had the surgery last January in Sarasota, Fl. and have had a year to get everything resolved. I must confess that my wife did the analysis since she had money deducted from her check over the last year for medical expenses and now she is applying for it back (tax free). Anyway with Aetna as my insurance provider we were charged $37,500 but the insurance company negotiated the rate down to $22,000. Out of the $22,000 we paid $1,750 which is going to turn out to be tax free money that was deducted from paycheck weekly so that amount will actually be a small percentage less if it was compared with money received on your paycheck after taxes. I hope this is helpful. Jeff (C2k 01-03-03)
