Hey guys,

I thought I would ask your adice on something. I think I know what I am going

to do but I'd like opinions from other experienced DR battlers. I saw the

foot and ankle specialist at UNC yesterday. He said after looking at my films I

probably do have osteomyeletis as well as the non union of the subtalar joint.

I also have a darn broken pin floating round because I can feel it when the

swelling goes down then it hits something else and it swells up again. The DR

said he is only in the OR twice a month and since we will be leaving the area

in June he won't treat me. he said all I have to worry about is mild

discomfort. I was up all night crying in pain last night. I have pain deep in my

calf

behind my knee (Where I also prior had the mycobacterial infection 15 years ago,

as well as in the ankle) and pain up to groin. We are talking pain that

morphine and percocet doesn't help. I am also hurting so much I have pain from

the

air boot the have me in. My husband and I are thinking if this continues

through the night just to take my scans and go to the ER at Duke. DO you think

they

would do anything different? In the NE if I had a minor abcess I was put in

the hospital and it was taken care of immediately and keep getting put off for

later appointments. Any ideas on how to get help if we do go to Duke? We tend

to go at odd hours like 5AM before it gets really busy and I am usually up all

night in pain any way. I am also having pain in my spleen. I Know the pain

from when I had the mycobacerterium fortuitum in my leg before. Thank you DR

battlers who unite in the cause of cessasation of pain!
