Guest guest
This morning I got a call from the Physical Therapy office that my insurance does not cover PT for my TMJ unless I have surgery first. I DONT THINK SO !!!!!!!! since I am already looking at 2 handsurgeries in the near future. Am I stuck with this " stuck " jaw or are there excersises I can do for this problem. It is my Rt jaw that has the arthtrosis but it is my Lt jaw that dislocates all the time and gets stuck. It is very painful to get it back into place again. Any suggestions? ---------- There have been quite a few posts recently on TMJ and generally, no, you do NOT need surgery to fix it. Specific treatment depends on what is causing it and there are a number of possible causes. The two modalities I would recommend are either cranialsacral therapy or acupressure. I have personally used both on people with TMJ at different times.
